I can add that this M5 was hte first Kelleners ever did this kit on. But apparantly it has been working fine for 30 000-40 000 km.

That's not why it got the jump..well I guess it's part of the problem. They were starting @30mph and the z06 started in 2nd gear. 1st gear in the z06 goes to 60+, 2nd to 90+

I'm sure some of the z06 guys will chime in, but I think it's @2500rpm at 30 in 2nd (redline is 7k).

Yeah, I remember reading the Vette driver lamenting about his weak start in the wrong gear. Wish I coulda been there that day... woulda been fun to see how el diablo would have stacked up against all that hot iron.

Not even, 2,300 rpms to be exact. I went out and tried it in my Z06 to see exactly where it was at.

I went for a ride in a C6 Z06 the other day and had the owner follow me in my car with 2 passengers with him. Although it wasnt a race, the Z06 (with his brother driving) gunned it on a nice long stretch and i did look in the mirror to see where the M5 was to only be very suprised to find it 2-3 cars lengths behind! I was looking through the side mirror which can fool you but still the M5 wasnt that far behind with 1 extra person on board. I did see the speedo of the Z06 basically fly by 260 to quickly approach 280 km/h.. it moved so fast that it felt like the car was raised off the ground with the throttle to the metal! And guess how fast the M5 went? It banged on its top speed limiter which means it was up there and didnt get killed like i thought it would

I think that the torque really tricks you cuz there is so much in the z06 which you makes you believe that its unstoppable and on the other hand the M5 feels fairly slow to its lack of torque especially on the bottom end.

Since hte 997TT is clearly faster oveer 250 km/h than the Z06 (see latest Auto Motor und Sport) the M5 would probably walk it over 250 km/h.

Trust me, these amercian gas guzzling cars are the next best thing to turbo cars as far as the torque sensation is concerned!

You should try my piece of junk Viper, you'll love it!
