the actual whole CD changer is replaced when you have this installed. If anyone needs a CD changer mine's for sale on ebay.co.uk at the moment. Well worth the money and sound quality is excellent. I've got the adaptor in a M-CLass and it's hissy and has interference the BMW one is clear as whistle. S/W is a little limited especially not being able to go Artists>Albums>Songs but I'll live with this for the convenience.

You will keep the single cd player in the dash and remove the 6 cd changer in the glove box. Take an hour or so and transfer the 6 cd's you would have been playing over to your iPod and you will never have to use the cd changer again. I like it alot and do not miss my cd changer. I set up each cd in it's own folder, so when I want a certain cd, it is there. You can also set up a folder for all of your favorite songs.
