It appears that the Z06 has even more advantage on a road course vs. straight line. The on-board computer limits the amount of torque applied to the drive train (typically in 1st & 2nd gear during drag race starts) to prevent breakage. The best stock (including tires) Z06 1/4 times are in the 11.20's @ 126/127 MPH.

Torque Management is not much of a factor on a road course. With the same stickiness of tires, the stock Z06 will easily run away from any stock Bimmer and beat 99.9% of stock Porsches (except Carrera GT). It is amazing how fast this car is on a road course right out of the box.

But it only carries two people!

At the end of the day these videos just are meant to give an impression of what happened on that particular day between those particular drivers and those particular cars. It's by no means scientific but neither are most magazine tests or all encounters on the street as well. There are just so many variables.
So true. Two completely stock cars of the same make and model can have a signification differernce in power.

But so does a GT3. It's a street legal race car, it's not supposed to be cushy.

Hey Congaman, I think that GM (General Motors) should be paying you some sponsorship money, or at the very least send you some parts, like clutches, Lingenfelter ported heads and camshaft. You are doing some good advertising for them. Don't you think that's a good idea?

Well it's been a little over a month since I picked up my 2007 Z06 in Bowling Green. I haven't been on the board much because I've been driving the Z06 in any spare time!! What a car. It will leave my '06 M5 in the dust just as the M5 would a Ford Focus. I still love the M and I'll buy another M5 in Oct. 2007, but for shear low to the ground, break-neck speed and kidney rattling torque, the Z06 is a wolverine.

Some complain about the interior, would I gladly pay another 5k for an upgraded treatment? Sure. I think the current interior is very adequate and many b**ch to justify that they spent at least twice as much to compete performance-wise.

I've added the Halltech filter and had a 'Jeremy" tune and we're making 470rwhp and 420 torque.

What an exhilarating drive...
