Availibility of quieter aftermarket exhaust?
Dear all,
Recently bought the BMW M5 E60 SILVERSTONE , but not always like the hard sound of it. Does anybody know if there is an alternative exhaust system available with LESS sound ?

Man you gotta love the sound, it's the nature of this beast! I doubt there is an exhaust system made for less sound for the M5.

You could always try Milltek, they have a good reputation for assisting with special requests like yours.

Yes, I can fix it for you no problem, I UNDERSTAND....Ship the car to me and I will install my wifes 2.5 L from her Z4 it will be oh so much quieter and I'll stuff the exhaust with steel wool, that will fix YOUR problem.....OR sell the car...

Sounds like the E60 M5 might not be the right car for you. The 550i or even an E90 would be more what you are looking for...

When my car was stock, most of the sound was the engine induction noise. If you were able to find a quieter exhaust, I would think that it wouldn't change the cabin noise by much.

I actually think the stock exhaust is a bit too quiet/muffled. You don't really enjoy the exhaust note until you hit high revs. I think you might want to reconsider. This stock exhaust is really very quiet.
