Advice on switching off A/C fans? A/C gone wild!

Driving home Wednesday, my A/C fans started out on high (the car was hot after sitting in the garage all day.) Fifteen minutes later, when the car was freezing, they remained on high. I tried taking it off "auto" and setting a lower fan speed. Nothing happened. I tried raising the thermostat settings. Nothing happened. I turned the car off and on again. Nothing happened. I rebooted the computer. Nothing happened. I turned the car off. Nothing happened ... the fan (to the rear seat vents) remained on. My service advisor says BMW sent a service notice about this ... but that does me no good. Any ideas?

Thats an easy one.....been there, had that....

Go to the trunk...grab the 10mm wrench and undo the battery for 25 min....hook it back up and your good to go...

Computer only needs 16 min.....but I like 25.....Fans turn off anyway after 16 min...but keeps happining until you do the battery thing..

Thanks ... I'll give it a try!

(This does beg the question ... why doesn't BMW just hire a few Japanese electronic/software engineers for a few weeks to work out silly bugs?)

Does the fan stay on when the car is shut off?

I had that happen and they had to replace a relay somewhere.

Yet another software glitch in the BMW. I posted a thread recently where my parking sensor would shut off its beeping even after I shut off the engine.

This is ridiculous. BMW should really try to fix these unacceptable problems. These are no brainers.

Wow, then I wasted a few days. My car was at the dealer for 3 or 4 days with this problem.
