DMS Software $2900.00

Hi All,

Just what get feedback from the board. I contacted the DMS office in Chicago and this is what i got from them.

The up grade will be done at your home or office.
The cost is $2,900.00US

Standard BHP=507 Up Grade BHP=548

Standard Torque=383 Up Grade Torque=428

Top speed= still waiting for information.

Question:

At that price, should I do it?

I have the EvoTech software for the same price too. I will try to upload the dyno sheets after the software upgrade. I think some of you are familiar with EvoTech.

Also, I am not very familiar with DMS but seems like its convenient since you can flash it at home or in the office.

I assume these gains are in addition to whatever you get from carbon filter removal?

How about the launch control? Is there any removal of the crippling to the LC program made by BMWNA?

428 lb ft of torque. My guess is that that's pushing the limits of the transmission and differential.

A quote from the BMW Media Guide:
"In technical terms, the gearbox is conceived for torque of up to 405 lb-ft and engine speeds of up to 8,500 rpm. In other words, it offers adequate reserves for consistent reliability throughout the car’s complete running life, with additional back-up being provided by a separate oil cooler for the high-performance transmission."

And Tom, you just posted this: Dreaming about an E60 M5 for next year.

In any event, I suppose it'd be a green light if you're leasing, have purchased an extended warranty, or won't be keeping the car. Then again, it's only money, who cares

Are you happy with your Evotech software? Base on the page on your post. Do you sell the software and the eisemann in sport(Oval)?

yes, the gain is an additional to the Carbon fiter removal. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me on the LC and top speed. Keep you all posted.

Yes, i am pretty satisfied but i will keep you posted. If you can shoot me your email address, i will try to get the dyno sheets.

Defo, it's worth every penny. Had mine done a couple of weeks ago & it's awesome. Also had DMS re-map my previous motor, that being a 535d M-Sport & that was awesome as well.

The guys really know their stuff & you're paying for their excellent development, technology & customer service, as they will also re re-map your car if BMW wipe the map doing CIP upgrades. It's not detectable by dealers & therefore you should have no warranty issues.

Top speed is estimated at 205MPH & i've heard of a couple of dyno runs on another baord members car which gave 567BHP IIRC.

I'm having mine dynoed on Tuesday so i'll report back on my results.
