Hey guys, and gals (If there are any on this board), well sad part of my story is my 4 months old Indianapolis red was totaled in an accident that was not my fault at all, I was driving down the road at a reasonable speed when all of a sudden someone T bones me and my car spins hitting the pavement, the gear box, engine and front suspension, one whole side of the car are totally destroyed, and the damage is such that the insurance company will total the car, since its so new I will be getting all my money back. Good news is that the dealer has two cars, one is Interlagos bluewith Silverstone interior and the other is Silverstone 2 with Silverstone interior, I don’t know which color to choose, so help a fellow board member with incredibly bad luck out will you. Oh and the air bags make a god awful noise. On the bright side, barring a few bruises, I am ok. PS I had my Eisenmann race (which sounds great btw) installed a week prior to the accident; the exhaust is badly damaged too. I’ll post pics once the insurance formalities are over. Thanks in advance HMGT3
Thanks for the replies, I was leaning toward the blue too, still not sure though, your votes will sure help me make up my mind, as far as the other car goes, he was an in E60 too, a 523i which is a 6 cylinder 5 series, you don’t have those in the states. The other guy walked away; apparently he did not see me!! It all happened in a blink of an eye, I have to say, I did not feel a thing until the bags popped, awful noise and white powder everywhere, the engine bore the brunt of the impact. Everyone should be very careful out there. Be safe
Glad you're ok. These cars get a slight insurance discount for being so safe.
I vote IB as well =)
Or what if you order one?
The noise an airbag makes is loud enough to cause slight hearing damage. It's comparable to a gun shot. But I'd much rather trade slight hearing damage for a split head.
I walked out of a local restaurant last night to find an Interlagos blue M5 parked nose to nose with my car. The color just is stunning, especially at dusk. BTW, the car belonged to 8-Ball a M5Board member. – Great guy, it was nice meeting him.
I saw an absolutely immaculate IB on the 101 in San Fran during a trip yesterday - it was stunning! I tried to keep up with it in my rental buick, but I couldn't. The guy was on the phone, and really moving through traffic.
If you live in an area where you can keep it clean, I'd go for the IB. If you want a car that always looks good and is very low maintenance, get the Silverstone II.
Same here taeke the IB, however I woundn't fret, you are still alive and cars are replacable celebrate that and think of it as luck instad of misfortune.
Hey Scott, that IS a stunning picture of IB! I have admired it many times since you first posted that pic months ago. But even tho it's the same IB as the pic that Gustav has posted above, your photo shows a much more elegant color. I know from what others have said about the car "taking on" the surrounding environment thus making IB look so different in each setting. So I was wondering if there are any times when you personally have felt that the blue just isn't what you wish it was, or are you as much in love with it with every glance and stare you give it?? I recall reading where many did not go with IB because of that inconsistency. These two pictures are a good case in point. Just curious.

I was on the fence with this color before buying. Now that I own it, I am in love with it.
The color as illustrated above is when it looks its best. That being said, I also love it in lower light like in Gustav's pics and like this one below:
(this pic was done just minuts from the other, it's just in the shade of another building on this garage)
I really like it in both settings, but prefer the 1st, brighter setting more.
My only complaint with the color thus far is that it's similar to black in its needing to stay clean.
My favorite of my pics from that day is this one, although you don't see a lot of the car.
Another vote for Interlagos Blue, but i would say that.
I'll be posting some more photos next week, as my Emmy gets a full day of Pro Detailing on Saturday. She looks good now but will be stunning after Saturday.
