Aftermarket speakers question [Size of OEM speakers?]
Hi guys,
I'm thinking to upgrade my component speakers to some decent ones (maybe MB Quart), but from what I observe , M5's component speakers are not the same size as what are out there on the market ( 6" or 6.5 " ) , does anyone know the size of oem speakers ?
thanks guys !
Will

There are a few board members, including myself, who have their system installed. It is excellent and makes the stock system sound like junk.

I just had my system redone. The M5 actually has 4" speakers in the front and rear and on the rear deck. I had three sets of 4" and tweeters installed. Front and rear are MB Quart QSD 210's and Alpine top of the line for the rear deck. I also added a JL W7 10" woofer. This is all powered by an Alpine F345 (sound) and Alpine MRD 1005 for sub. The sound is amazing, crystal clear. The installers went through a JL Clean Sweep to give me an aux input for my ipod and to eliminate any engine noise or difficulties with adding after market products.
deejimeoos : how do u like the BM quart Q series ? does it sound sharp or it's pretty clear, and is Q series their best one ?

I'm going to second jfenley on Reus Audio. Not only is it a great sounding system, they'll move your system to your next car for the cost of labor and keep the lifetime warranty intact.
They're in Orange County, so you should at least call Rick and check out their shop.
And they design, engineer and manufacture their own speakers to their specs. They played their speakers side-by-side with all of the other leading speakers and there was no comparison - theirs sound not just a little, but WAY better. Even if you don't go with them, you should at least go hear one of their systems so you have a benchmark to compare to.

Both. It is a shop for high-end cars and they make a lot of their own stuff. Price varies depending on what system you choose. Best bet is to call them.
Basically, they tune your existing system and add an additional amp and speakers.

The Q series MB Quarts sound amazing!!!!! Loud, clear and no distortion. I have done many sound systems over the years, and I am most impressed with MB Quartz's. The Q series is their top of the line. My dealer quoted me over $1100 Canadian per pair, I got them on ebay for $497 US each pair from caraudioshoppe@yahoo.com.
