Exhaust Choice

I had the Dinan added to my E39 and loved it. I want to change out the stock exhaust on the E60 too. Eisenmann has both Sport and Race but I have read that the race may be too loud for day-to-day use. Mometum has installed the race version on a local M5 but I haven't had the opportunity to hear it. Someone had posted an audio but I couldn't access it and audio files never seem to represent the actual sound anyway.

Any one have any ideas or suggestions???

I run a Viper at a local members- only track where an E60 with Esenmann runs. He has the race pipes. They sound absolutely fabulous, but his comment to me was they were too loud for daily use. His recommendation when asked the question was to go with the Sport setup. He states they're fine if you cruise but as soon as you get on it at all, they get loud.

After hearing his I would agree. The Race setup sounds fab, but would take away much of the function of the car for daily use.

My two cents.

There will alot to choose from in due time. I ran a Kelleners on my 01 M5 and loved it. I guess you will also have to ask yourself if you want the x pipe as well. There is another thread comparing supersprint's, they are a very reputable company, my $.02. Murph

If you are worried then just go with an Eisenmann Sport Performance. I have the Race performance and I don't think it is loud at all.

No Kelleners at the moment ..

Althought they were "similar" on the E39 cars.... I liked the Kelleners over the Eissenman

On the E60, I had read that Kelleners had not made an exhaust set up..

But there are a lot of choices and Eissenman and SS are likely the two top choices right now

Hello Steve,

Momentum probably referred to mine car since it was the first Eisenman (race/oval) that it installed in Houston.
Trust me, you will want a sport version. Race is a little too loud.

I'll be getting the Eisenmann 4x83 mm Meisterschaft Ti which is the titanium setup as soon as it become available. Chose the round tips. Can't wait!

Resonator replacement only worked out very well for me. A bit louder, but totally acceptable to others. Also saves you $$$$.

i have the esienmann race system, it is loud, sounds so good - ferrari like. 4000 - 7000 sound so mint, you will be looking for underpasses and tunnels to drive thru.

i find with car closed up, its just a hum. depends on how high of RPM.

if you not sure about the level of sound i woudl get the esinmann sport system. just a level under race and bit less in sound.

i garuntee you will be so happy
