Got to run against a 996 gt3

ran into one this weekend here in chicago. i was heading to the movies and of course had to find one as far as possible from the house (this is off topic, but i find myself going places completely out of my way or completely new places, altogether, more and more these days) anyway, as i'm getting on the highway, i spot a black 996 gt3 few cars ahead. i immediately click the magic button and proceeded to catch up to him. i made sure to slow down very hard next to him as i passed to get his attention, which i did. he downshifted and took off. i, of course, was ready for him and followed. we split the car in center lane in the middle, he went left and i went right. i'm not sure if he let of or had a car ahead of him (had to keep my eyes on the road) but i soon overtook him and continued at wot till about 140 at which point i started to slow down. surprisingly, he didn't fall back much. the highway merges into a large city street at this section and we were lucky enough to pull next to each other. actually, moved over a lane so that he could pull up, but that's besides the point. the first thing he asked me was, " what do you have done?" for which i replied, " it's stock." i guess the v10 just produceed a melodious symphony at wot. what's funny is that as soon as he saw inside the car, he was like " man, you have 3 people in the back!" i just smiled. the light turned green and he took of. the car had this loud and aggressive exhaust with some clean wheels, which i think suited it very well. it looked and sounded so aggressive that it made me want to get an exhaust myself. real nice car and a cool guy. hope i ran into him again. it was fun

I to find myself taking the long road home or taking an exit futher away. love this car. as for the exhaust, i recently changed mine to the esienmann Race system, car sounds bad *** now. its angry adn sounds like a F1 car. if your looking for a nice bump go to the sport system, if you want full blown bad *** get the Race. then you will find yourself not just going on longer ways to get somewhere, you will be looking for tunnels and large covered freeway areas, to hear the V10 to sing.

Thats pretty badass, this is the brand spanking new 996 GT3 correct?
Niiice

The stock M5 exhaust does sound nice at wot, I think I'm going to get the Eisenmann sport eventually when mine comes... Although you said a nice bump for the sport.... According to what I've heard from others is that while the sport isn't quite as loud as the race, its still really loud...

I am in love with exhausts though, my lade has a magnaflow setup on it, it is so sick... It gurgles at idle and at wot... oh man its nice, revving it, itll backfire, and pop. I used to get yelled at leaving class threatening to not be allowed to drive on campus because I was "speeding"... even though I never, they just thought since my exhaust was so loud lol...

So you gotta becareful of some things!

Great story!

Thanks for sharing!

Awesome to be able to do that to a GT3 - the best is that we can carry a lot more passengers!

at the rate i've been heading, i'm not going to have my license for long. i think i need some help or something. i just can't get on the highway with no or little traffic and drive normally. it's like a disease or an addiction. damn, i should of gotten an e55, just joking. what i find more amazing is that not only am i smiling in the car, but my passengers also have grins from ear to ear. god i love this car.
