Developing M5 addiction...

i've developed an addicition. i'm addicted to my M5. i just can't get enough, i need more and more. i keep telling myself, just a little more, just a little more, but it's never enough. i've only had it for 5 days, put on 700 miles, don't even want to think what will happen when i can really unleash the beast. helpppp.

all joking aside, this car is simply perfection. i just love everything about it. i don't think words can even describe how great this car is.

Nice feeling, eh? :-)

The best part, it keeps on for years!

I went through a cycle of addiction. At 700 miles I was where you are. I started to cheat a little bit on the break-in rules and got more and more excited. Then I went through a period where I was kind of down on the car.

I got used to the power and it wasn't as startling or fun. VANOS anxiety hit. I started to notice small imperfections that bothered me. SMG D-Mode lag became a thorn in my side.

And then came the 1200 mile service. I started driving it progressively harder and harder. i took it to the track a couple of times to explore the limits. Tried a couple of US-LC S6 runs. OMFG.

Now, at 5000 miles, I am loving it more and more every day. This is my first car that has also been a great toy. And what a toy it is! It's not even supposed to be my daily driver, but I can't leave it in the garage.

Among cars that (to an average observer) don't look super fast, our M5s are the fastest cars in the world. Among other cars that casual observers (and more than a few OWNERS) assume are faster than the M5, the M5 still kills almost all of them. What a blast!

Congratulations!

You live approximately 2 hours north of me, however temps and weather are approximatly the same now. IMAGINE WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE WHEN IT WARMS UP! I, like you purchased my Beast in mid January and am suffering from extreme Spring fever. Also, I don't know what you owned before, but I had an '03 745li. Not exactly a sports car, but it could smoke a Caddy SLS. LOL. The difference between what I had before and what I have now is extreme and I, too cannot get enough!

Congrats! You are a perfectly normal Beast owner acting in a perfectly normal maner!

BTW, several owners from this general area are talking about getting together (probably in your area) when the weather moderates. Stay tuned...
