Heads up display lag?

Anyone know if there is a software update for the Heads up display rpm mode? If you just watch the heads up display and shift when it says, you'll blow.... It lags... anyways to correct the lag and make it more real time... w/ no lag?????

I messed with it today to see if you were right. At times it didn't seem to lag at all, but in 1st gear it does a little. In 1st, you have to change gears when it hits the yellow or you'll bump the red limiter.

It doesn't bother me much. My 911 Turbo hits the rev limiter before the analog tach even gets close to redline.

From what I understand, the head up display is not suppose to measure engine speed (RPM) at all. It's suppose to be a guide as to when to shift. It's a shift indicator rather than a RPM reader.

If you see the RPM will fill upp "backwards" when you should shift, that is the time when you should shift.

There is zero lag. The regular tach has a display with a 240 degree radius, while heads up display has a 180 degree radius. This means that if the redline is, say, at 4:00 pm, the HUD is at 1:00pm. This just takes some getting used to.

Does the HUD redline change like the tach does, based on engine temp/warm-up?

Yes takes getting used to- have a look at the tach at 5500 RPM- then look at the HUD. HUD looks like you are barely revving the engine- reason for this is stated above. I use the tach for general curiosity- what RPM am I at now?- and I use the HUD for hard driving and getting a sense of when I am close to the red line.
