The 6 speed manual is the only known option for the new model year. Several new options are being made available for any M5 you order now, including soft close, air Pressure sensors are standard, etc. October is too far away to know anything.

Our dealer told me that the 07' production would start in march and should arrive around june. That might not be the case for the rest of the world but people here are always aware of the model year and when the car is bought.. thus sales drop early in the year (march and later) cuz people would prefer to wait till the sept inorder to get the new year model... therefore i think german manufactucters (not sure about the rest about am positive about BMW) just roll out new models abit earlier inorder to get around this problem

BMW has stated that the M5 would not change model years in March, and would continue to be a 2006 until this fall. Here is the notice to dealers that states that the model year for the M5 will remain 2006. Have your dealer check his information.

I haven't seen anything from BMW on this, and the information was again from a dealer and probably suspect as to its validity. The official announcement contained information that these things (soft close and tire pressure) were available starting in March, 2006. Of course, plans can change. Please show me a BMW document to the contrary showing that these items will be delayed.

Digi, I will try and track down an official doc from BMW. I, too was informed thru my dealer (located in Bahrain), but I believe others on this board have confirmed as well, including BMW1986, who works at a dealership. I know that when I finalized my options recently for my March production, the dealer confirmed w/Munich directly that the soft close and TPM were not available on March production, contrary to the BMW Information Guide, printed almost 1 yr ago.

Cheers

You are right. On SA BMW page:
http://www.bmw.co.za/Products/Automo...ES_01_2006.pdf
It shows soft close door as option SA323, available as of March 2006 build.
