What's the consensus on the M5 brakes? Good, bad, ok?
Now that folks have had the car for some time, what's the feeling about the M5 brakes?

I know initially there was alot of concerns (complaints?) about the M5 brakes using floating rotors, 2 pistons, etc. setup instead of a fixed rotor, 6 pot setup.

Any thoughts?

(Sorry, if I am bringing up an old topic but the search function didn't bring up any new, recent info.)

Love the brakes, no complaints, no fade, pretty darn good regardless of how many pots...BTW they also look hot through the spokes of my M6 wheels...

They're certainly awesome brakes for the street with good feel, no squeal, sure stopping, no fade. They will easily stop you repeatedly from any speed. From various reports and reviews they even do well in minor track work where braking is not a big component and where street tires are used. For heavier track use, especially when using grippier R-compound tires that stress brakes more, people appear to be changing the brake fluid and pads, which help a lot in minimizing fade, but there still is some.
