Although it may be that the first few months US allocations were higher than normal (to meet pent up demand), Oct/Nov sales of 1,058 units (with 362 in Oct. & 696 in Nov.) seems to indicate that the 2,000 units for MY06 that some have quoted will be blown out of the water...
This month's Automobile magazine had an article saying that AMG production went from 11,500 vehicles in 2000 to 20,000 in 2004. BMW is clearly following suit.
I wonder if we will see allocations cut back once we hit the new year. My dealer recieved 2 extra allocations for December that they were not expecting.
Dealers in Los Angeles are still playing the "limited edition" game. Dealers that have cars are asking giant premiums for them. When is the flood coming? Can't even order here from dealers that are selling at MSRP. They don't have allocations.

Re: 696 M5 E60 sold in hte USA in November according to Fredereick D. Meloan
Does anyone know what BMW's goal for sales/production is? 700 in November, and probably ramping higher, is more than I thought, and more than I would like to see.
I find that odd when most dealers are only getting allocated 1 a month in the Wash dc area. Most dealers have sold out for the year. The only way I got mine was the gentlemen who order her walked away. Were is he getting his numbers from?? Not that it really matters, just wondering. Happy Holidays!!

I think some are getting more than 1 a month. Mine had 8 allocations for november; or so it seemed for their list.

There are ~370 US BMW dealers, so if every dealer got 1/month, that's 4,440 per year. Some of the larger dealers have received allocations of 5 or more in some of the first few months. It seems the first few months allocations were abnormally high (for the US launch) and they'll come down and stabilize over the comming months. If your local dealers received 1/month for the first few months, they're a small dealer, and it wouldn't surprise me if they have months with no allocation.
