It does look great in the sun. The pictures of it in the shade, especially when a bit dirty, were far less than flattering.

Hey Neon,

Its official. I know why your plate is "1" Neon.

Because thats the BEST looking E60 I have ever seen.

You get No.1 Buddy.

Oh no. I'm liking the E60. See that's all it need was a few mods and a Mad colour.

Regards MJ

Re: Pictures: Hartge Sepang Bronze M5 E60

Are the cars next to it Silver Gray, and then Silverstone II?

I like the Sepang Bronze interior, and these pictures are the best I have seen of the exterior -- it looks fabulous.

My problem is that I have seen very unflattering pictures of all the colors, except white. It makes choosing a color very difficult when you don't know what it will look like. If I got a color and it looked most times like the unflattering pictures, I would not be happy.

Would you say that you have some "issues" with the shape of the car then? or is it that you like a color that is not offered?

I am getting an M5. I didn't buy my current E39 M5 for the looks, although it is "classic BMW" to me. I used to hate the looks of the new 5 series, and the M5 isn't much improved, but it is growing on me. The interior is not growing on me, nor are any of the available colors, inside or out. Beauty is more than skin deep on this car for me. The color choices are negligible and chancey that they'll even make the car more ugly for me. This wouldn't make me happy. I'd prefer to know what I am getting.

My fears: The Silverstone may have too much blue tint in it. The red is too burgundy. The silver grey is too dark and drab. The black has a blue tint to it. The Bronze is too bronze, possibly looking like a car from the 70s. The Interlagos Blue is too Richard Petty for me. I never liked a white car, but this seems the least worrisome choice.

Mind you, I have seen gorgeous pictures of each of the colors...but I have also seen the same colors "in a bad light."

I am pushing hard for Individual. We'll see if my dealer can get an exception to the no-Individual-for-US edict from BMWNA.

Hopefully you can get them to offer you the individual.

I have not noticed that "blue" tint that you mention. I have though, seen it in the Carbon Black. What I see from pictures of Sapphire black is that it is not as black as I would like, but that has its advantages.
