Highest Milage on Original Rod Bearings??

I know, I know, another rod bearing thread... Relax. Im sure I'll get a reaming, but whatever. I came upon this same titled thread, but in the E39 section. I did some searching and didn't find anything for the E60 M5's, but thought it might be interesting. Now my intention is not to convince or prove to anyone to replace or not to replace their bearings, just for entertainment and maybe some helpful information. Like when your a kid, it was always nice to finish the night of with a funny movie after a horror movie marathon. Now "Rod Bearings" is in the title, so if your that sick of reading about them, you shouldn't have clicked on it.

That being said, My 06 has a bit over 79,000 miles, and is bone stock (for the time being.), and is just my weekend car. I had an oil analysis on the first oil change when I first made the purchase, came back **** and span. I am anxious to do another one, which will be testing the oil that I have driven as opposed to the previous owners. I never exceed 3,000 rpm before reaching proper temp. But once that temp is met, I driver her hard, but never to a point where she seems uncomfortable. Are these not the funnest f*cking cars ever..? Hmm, maybe that should have been the tittle...

Anywho, see what happens

I seem to recal a car a few years ago that was well over 200k and hadn't had the rod bearings replaced yet, it was almost before that was becoming a big issue.

My car has about 84.5k on it, original bearings, Blackstone says they should still be just fine but I do want to get them replaced sooner rather than later.

Not sure if you've been down this path before, but I'm sure most everyone on here would say why would you wait 15k miles between oil changes? Seems the average is 5,000 - 7,500 miles. I personally do the changes every 5k also using LM 10w60.

I wonder if any of these higher mileage original rod bearing cars are modified or not and to what extent.

Mine is not stock, pulley, intakes, throttle bodies, exhaust, and tune.

Again, 106k miles on my '08 6MT. Doesn't really eat oil, black stone comes back good every time.

After reading this thread, I feel like I've got quite a few years before my '08, with 43K on it, increasing at a rate of several K per year, needs rod bearings. I get Blackstone analyses with each 5K-mile oil change.

I'm at 107K km and doing them next week with BE Bearings and 'BE' ARP bolts. I have no idea what I'll find - but it will give me peace of mind that the gap is proper for the horses and 10W60 oil. Not driving the M5 hard until then because it would be horrible to have a bearing spin days before salvation. :devil

I changed mine at 103k. Original owner of 2006. My friend had his motor go at 137k miles.
