Car developed an oil leak after a redline run

A few days ago I was driving in 'D' (I know, why?) and during a spirited drive I hit the redline once. After that, I noticed a puddle of oil every morning on the garage floor. I had a 60 mile drive the other day and it lost 1/2 of a quart but during the every day sedate commute is loses very little. Obviously, the car will be going on the lift shortly but what could have broken from that one redline excursion?

Thx

This should happen soon! Remove the under tray and check for the leak. Hell if you have a jack I would go take a look now. Could be the oil cooler / lines.

Hard to believe it happened after one redline excursion unless it wasn't warmed up. Probably a slowly failing seal that finally gave out.

I have been taking it easy on the car since I did a rod bearing job on it at the end of January. So, this was the 1st redline since then.

Effect: oil loss higher under load
Cause: crank case pressure higher under load

may want to check PVC system, valve cover seal, oil pan seal etc.

Glad you found the leak.

Our OEM oil coolers are fragile. I hit road debris, which caused my leak. I used it as an excuse for an RPi oil cooler.
