May I suggest you join the UK BMW Owners Club.
They organise track days which you could attend.
I don't know if they use Brands Hatch, it is probably too expensive, but it is worth going a bit further to really see what your car can do.

Otherwise head for the Eurotunnel, cross France and Belgium in about 2 hours (at legal speeds) and you are in Germany. Take care though, not all Autobahns are unrestricted, and a lot of them are narrower than most British motorways.

Can you tell me your speed @ 8250 RPM in 1st, 2nd, 3rr, 4th, 5th may be 6th???/

If you don't have the space or do not want to annoy the neighbors or the police why not check the speeds at 3000rpm and then multiply the results by 2.75.
A car with top speed restrictor still in place will not reach 8250 rpm in 6th for the manual gearbox car and probably not in 6th for the SMG and certainly won't in 7th on the SMG.
Radial tyre diameter growth at very high speeds can probably be neglected here, I guess you are looking for a ballpark figure.

I will check my car next time I am out on a clear road and will post the results if nobody else does this first.
