Guys the time has officially to come to take my beast to another level. I was experiencing numerous problems with my SMG transmission and I didn't like the jerkiness. I am a huge fan of the E92 M3 DCT transmission because of how instant and quick the shifts are. Not to mention the less problem it causes; the DCT on those are solid reliable transmissions. BMW did a great job with the glorious NA V10 engine but did not perfect the automated transmission. I ordered the E92 M3 DCT transmission and flywheel yesterday and will start shipment next week. The shop who is going to make this amazing build is going to be Gintani. Gintani is well-known for their supercharger and twin-turbo kits they offer for M cars. At there facility, I saw an amazing build project which was a 2010 M6 with a twin-turbo kit pushing easily over 1000+ horsepower also equipped with their DCT transmission to handle perfect with the beast. My whole build is going to take roughly a month to complete and I can't wait till the parts come in! I will update you guys every time I have new updates on this build.

this is awesome, i too am amazed more videos and/or pics of the v10 twin turbo/DCT have not been released. I have been following the build and anticipated its completion but it seemed no updates had been posted for some time....good luck, very curious what this would cost

Good luck! Post up as much info as you can when you can.

I hope it all goes smoothly

Can i ask have they done it before? If so why havent they shared the extraordinary conversion prior??? Its something many peope would love to have

If they have a turn key solution why is it not spoken of?

It's never been done before, at least never posted here. Our M5 Guru, Jcolley, now operating as fast attack motorsports says it's a monumental task being there is no coding for the S85 and an F10 DCT. I'd be very surprised if this ever happens. Just my two cents.

Gintani has done 3 cars already equipped with the DCT transmission and it is amazing. I trust them only with this build. I will dropping the car off in two weeks and pick it up after four weeks once it is fully completed.

So let me get this straight. Some tuning company is gonna call up the M division and say 'hey we need the DCT trans and DME coding for your E60 CSL since we want to do a DCT swap' and that's it? What does that mean 'there is coding'??
Simply that your statement that there is no coding for the S85 and the DCT is wrong.

im not saying it cant happen ........

honestly i want it to happen so i can buy one ......

there are a lot of very knowledgeable ppl on board ...... a lot of them have significant resources and have modded their cars and upgraded motors to the point that it is borderline insanity ...... smg is another weak point. if anyone had successfully done this at this point we would all know and it would be on youtube .......

the s85 has been out of production longer than they produced it ...... lots would have this ....... as you can see no one has it .........

Good luck

It would have to be an e series DCT as the transmission electronics/ECU operate on a totally different bordnet in the F series cars. You may be able to use an F series DCT for the hardware, but you'd have to strap it to an E series ECU

I got an email notification that there is a thread about a DCT swap, I have to be honest, I ignored it, because the previous one where the russian guy keeps saying that he will get a TT with DCT never updated, and I am actually following this guy on instagram and he keeps saying that it will happen and it's been like that for at least a year now and nothing happens.

I'm not being an a**hole here, but this has been going on and on and we never saw it happening, so it's either Gintani are bragging about something that they never did, or they are being very secretive about it and I don't see any reason why they would be, I'm sure if they did it there would be at least a handful of people on this board that are willing to do it, only if they see it happen.

I know right .... I really want this to work out and happen but I am skeptical and I hope I am wrong and it is unfounded. When I drop engine and increase displacement with a low compression build so I can turn the boost up - this would be the ideal time to swap to a DCT as well - I got 12 to 18 months before this so plenty of time to see if it works out .........

My only thing is if this had been done successfully people would know and many of us would spend the bucks to get it done!
