All drivetrain and powertrain related software releases get an individual release/approval for the component, then a group "Verbund" release/approval for all the software/components together as partner components in the vehicle stating that the components (DME, DSC, EGS, etc.) are approved to work together on the same software level. This is how the whole i-step process was born and came to fruition.

The only possibility is if the software was privately written...the legitimate S85 DCT software from BMW will never reach public hands unless it is stolen and unknowingly distributed like the rest of the software and development tools seem to end up.

I've set my calendar to check in in 3 weeks. I'm hoping this isn't another pipe dream thread; i'd personally really like to see the DCT V10 combo come to life with a little more proof than people claiming it's been done before with no hardcore proof to validate the yip-yap

I will keep you all updated once I drop the car off in roughly 2 weeks. Gintani is always packed and busy so the first date available is two weeks out. I can't wait to be fully finished with the project.

Garage
im not saying it cant happen ........

honestly i want it to happen so i can buy one ......

there are a lot of very knowledgeable ppl on board ...... a lot of them have significant resources and have modded their cars and upgraded motors to the point that it is borderline insanity ...... smg is another weak point. if anyone had successfully done this at this point we would all know and it would be on youtube .......

the s85 has been out of production longer than they produced it ...... lots would have this ....... as you can see no one has it .........

Good luck

The OP said that the M6 would receive a biturbo system. So I really don't think that the DCT trans is a OEM one, they probably are going to upgrade it too.. so the weight will not be a problem!

Weight should not be a problem. If that was the case, having passengers in the car would screw things up.

The F10 M5 is heavier than the E60 M5 and also has more torque.

Which transmission are they using? The one from an E9X M3 or the F10 M5 version? Is there a difference?

All manual cars use the GS6-53BZ. The transmissions are all technically interchangeable, but the internals vary based on torque specs as well as some exterior pieces like the output flange and the mounting brackets. Same applies to the GS7 DCT trans.
