Hey guys, I'll be pulling an engine out of my M5. Since I'm pulling it out I thought if changing the clutch on it along with the Flywheel.
Is there a better clutch&flywheel for it?
I've heard about Spec Clutches, but there has been some stories of parts missing out of the package, in other words, no so good. Still doing some research.
I'll be putting in 700+ Bhp into it that's why I'm also asking about it. Please help out.
One of the things that no one has really cracked yet to make a suitable upgrade. I was going with the spec clutch since I have another friend that is currently using it but the shifting is rough. So I went with advice of Jcollie and went to the Sachs clutch.
Is it at least somewhat of an upgrade when you go to sachs? And can you ask your friend if he got faster shifts or just hard shifts as if he's just banging gears. Does that affect transmission life when it's shifting that hard with spec clutch?
He upgraded to spec because he is running 175 shot of nitrous. the shift are not smooth at all so you might get used to it but your passenger might think something is wrong. It almost like driving a regular dual clutch on a manual car but without the chatter
Get the engine out first and have a look at the condition of the clutch. When I changed my engine I waited on ordering the clutch just to see the condition of the clutch what was in there. Turns out it was nearly brand new so re-used it.
