I'm looking to get a tune for my M5 soon. So I have been doing research and everyone seems to really like evolve but then I came across this brentune. People claim to have 30-40 whp gain and it's hard to believe! Does anyone have experience with either tunes, any dynos? If you guys know of any other good tune for the s85 comment below! My car is stock btw. Any feedback would be great.
At this point I am not impressed by Brentuning I asked them to revise my tune as my friend has evolve and it make this tune look stock. Bren beats eurocharged and the other comp hands down but I'm waiting to hear a response to see what they can do. It was so bad that I felt embarrassed
I have the BT, decent gains, better drivability, can't speak for other tunes. Customer service has been great, once I have a few more goodies on will ask for a revised tune.
OP, one thing I’d like to point out is that you should look at dyno numbers with a grain of salt. Dyno’s are good for gathering a base line and then adjusting from there but the HP numbers dropped are only good for that day/s ambient temperature, elevation, air flow, etc.
I have been for a while doing some homework on this too. I'm a facts type enthusiast. I have had Evolve in my bimmers, I like the 4 different tune files Brent offers and saw the battle of the M5s and liked the results, pretty close race. I know Sal which is no longer with Evolve. FMS wrote a response that I was impressed and showed that he knew the S85, but all I have seen is one or 2 rev videos but No races to compare. So it's like I'm a bit stuck also. But ima do the flex fuel then tune on top. So I'm working on something that later I'll publicize, with results. Choose wisely.
I challenge all tuners to send me a file for comparisons and ill throw my M5 on my friends dyno and do back to back runs and show what is best in comparisons on dyno, then ill take the VBOX and log all kinds of runs on the street. FMS, Brent and Evolve...whoever has Highest WHP and great Vbox logs will def win the forums attention.
FAMS tune hands down. If you ask for an explanation you have not completed your research.
If you have and you're still contemplating tuners call each one individually and ask them personally, what make their tune superior. I guarantee I know which tuner you will choose...
I almost there with the FAMS tune, got the kit in the post and have sent my stock file to Jim. Now waiting for Jim's file to comeback to me. Really looking forward to loading the new tune.
Great crew down in Austin TX, but the tune is a one hit wonder. For $600, that is all you get, 1 tune. $100 more, FAMS and Bren give you options on there hand held, 3-4 tune options which is not bad for the price.
JIM'S FAMS TUNE IS THE WAY TO GO. I LOVE It. LOETS PUT THE PERFORMACE TO THE SIDE FOR A BIT. MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE TUNE IS HOW SMOOTH IT HAS MADE THE ENGINE AND THE SMG TRANSMISSION. SHIFTS ARE BUTTER SMOOTH AND IN S6 THEY ARE LIGHTNING FAST AND PRECISE. NOT BRUTAL AND VIOLENT LIKE BEFORE. NO MORE LUMPY IDLE... NO MORE NECK BREAKING SHIFTS... I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. JIM HAS DEDICATED HIS BUSINESS TO THIS S85 PLAFORM... THAT IS BASICALLY ALL HE EATS, SLEEPS AND BREATHS... HE IS OBSESSED WITH THE ENGINE. NO BEETER PLACE TO GET THE TUNE
