Hey guys, I hope you all have a good day. I'm about to get a daily drive car near my M6. Which one is better? F10 535 or 550. I need you opinions about these two for daily drive car, on the side of M6.

Thanks a lot:wink:wink:wink

Personally, I find the noises made by the F10 528i and 535i's engines to be a terrible racket. They sound awful. The F10 makes a decent noise, although it's near silent.

As an aside, I can't speak to the auto transmission. The only 550i I have driven is my father's and he went for the manual! :noSMG: I actually prefer it to the 6sp in my e60 M5.

So what is your opinion? 535 or 550 I don't care about how they sound [emoji23][emoji23], even thought they are good for daily cars bro.

Well the 550 has all the crazy N63 problems. Personally I dont think I will ever touch any BMW with an N63 engine.

The F10 550 uses the S63tu1 twin turbo engine. Lots of free BMW oil, but no problems for over 2 yrs. with wife's car.

With 445 hp and 480 ft lbs., it's no N63.

Good driver F10 550 > Bad driver E60 M5 stock :crying

EDIT: Dacan, After looking at your sig. i know what you mean. Had good luck with the S63 so far though (and warranty, so no worries)

I know a few folks who had the V8 care package "recall". Was for builds thru mid/late 2013 iirc.

All of the V8's (non-M) were affected (again iirc).

I would like to believe that BMW still makes a solid straight 6 (hence my wife's 535). But like most cars the peripherals die before the engine - so who knows.

Get what you want, live life and have no regrets.

The 535d is the only 5 series diesel available in the US today @ 413 ft/lbs. Could be interesting to drive.

BMW 535d Sedan - Features & Specs - Specifications - BMW North America

The specs on BMW's site (link above) show 413ft/lbs with 560 in parenthesis. At the bottom of the page they say "Figures in [ ] apply to vehicles with Sport Package or M Sport Package." Square brackets are not parenthesis - how can the sport package add ~150 ft/lbs? That would make it a 550d (which is also 6 cylinder). I am not sure what the 560 number is.

Maybe worth looking into - or maybe not :smile

What ever you get - get one with the M-Sport package. Looks a lot better than the base trim.
