I don't have the FAMS tune. With Evolve, my full stock file is 5MB & calibration only is 129KB . Your file size looks small....

All is correct. The PC software takes the file and compresses and encrypts it.

Working on yours today, should have back shortly.

The actual file size for both processors on the mss65 is around 5MB. However, a massive amount of that 5MB is blank space, so with a good compression algorithm, the resulting file becomes quite small. This is a good thing, the stock DME would choke trying to process 5MB of actual code and tables. From the factory, throttle is sluggish enough as is.

Great stuff! It sounds like you tailor each one for each car

I suspect most tuners supply the same thne over and over

I actually never drive with p500s with the touchier throttle, i find the first part of the throttle way to touchy to corner smoothly, the car becomes unbalanced

I use the normal p500 mode in m mode

Thank you

Fast Attack Motorsports (FAMS) Tune Review - Dyno & Datalogs

Tune loaded!

I must say i was amazed to have my tune load on the car in 30 seconds

Beats the hell out of waiting 10 mins and worry my unstable laptop with windows might restart at anytime for no reason (it frequently does!)

It was a pleasure using the pod, really easy and no misshaps.

My previous tune i had a very hard time due to no manual or info on the driver signature issues and pc software.

I will wait till i get more driving time for a comprehensive review but i found the following:

Shifting smoother
Shifting at lower throttle slightly quicker and smoother
P500 sport feels like 0-30% throttle quite touchy, compared to stock where it feels touchy the whole throttle range. This reason i prefer p500 only with dsc off

Acceleration, its very refined and smooth, it is more powerful but deceiving because of smoothness

Idles best it ever has

Smg shifting at full throttle, well its pretty crazy.
I always drive my m mode with dsc off and shift 4 in manual (smg).
Now 4 at wot shifts like mode 5-6.
Ive backed it off to shift mode 3, its quicker and firm but not brutal.
Its definitely got a better balance of shift speed and brutality. Something stock did not. It was either slowish or brutal s6.

Also jim informed me im the first production euro tune with vanos and smg improvements

Jim, does the pod allow error reading and clearing? I didnt want to play around too much

Also does this ecu have a count and lock the ecu if too many tunes loaded? Thanks

Curious about this too. The e46 m3 has this and I bricked my ecu... not fun!

Got mine loaded up Saturday evening when the weather was clear and about 55 degrees. Ever since it's been pouring the rain and 35 degrees. Car seems to drive more smoothly now, especially when cold. Removing the cold start made mornings much nicer.

You guys have nothing to worry about. I've flashed my ECU like 30+ times by now and it never got bricked.

Have done about 500km on the new tune now

I love it

Car is smoother but more powerful,
I can tell from regular roads and speeds i get to its faster

I even get some wheel spin if i punch first gear and thats with pzero tires

Id really recommend this tune, i think most competitors tunes are based off something done a long time ago, this has been developed and refined and drives fantastic

Awesome, can't wait to get mine installed too.

While I haven't done that yet I'd like to commend Jim for the way he conducts business. Fair and reasonable. Communicative and he seems like an all round decent guy. If you're contemplating this tune based on reviews above and my own personal experience you won't be unhappy.

Seasons greetings to all.

Cheers,
Matt
