Or we could install a filtration system in the supply line to the VANOS actuators with the finest possible filter we can get our hands on. I sent a few inquires out this evening, have an idea in mind.

If we do that we have to change the solenoids anyways? So we can start clean.

I located valves on Amazon $420 a peice. I ordered 4. We'll see if the order fulfills.

Found them also on Advanced Autos website for $199 a peice, I almost **** myself. Quickly added four to my cart punched in a coupon code to receive $175 in gift cards .... Then received a message "cannot fulfill inventory". Bummer....

This price gouge is absolutely absurd.

That sounds feasible. The filter would have to be exceptional to also handle the pressure,no?

Well, by law they need to provide parts for 10 years

After the last year of production which is 2010 I believe. So, we have 3-4 more years of guaranteed parts. After that, who knows.

Yup i saw them on autozone selling under duralast.
They are being made by the same company that makes them for bmw, Wells vehicle elctronics who owns airtex.

This would be something if duralast has a deal with them and sells them!

Airtex code is 2T1083. I've left a contact note for Wells asking where I can buy their product.
