Remember the disclaimer? Something to the effect that DSC is not designed to overcome the laws of physics, there should be no astonishment.

Re: You dont wana see this :(

A quote from MBWorld:

"7 cars there, 2 crashed, 1 blew it's engine, repeated brake failures, 2 blown clutches, a marvel of engineering! I bet someone at BMW got fired that day."

About the Monza event, is this true Gabriel?

hm...I can't believe in the blown clutches. This is a SMG car and I don't think that it will give more power to the clutch as it is built for.
What do you think?

I also heard from brake failures - but only while they tested ceramic brakes for the new M5...

Greetings

Re: You dont wana see this :(

"Brake failure" isn't that what people say when they need an excuse?

Anybody can crash, but it's better to do it on the race track than on the street.

Of the things on that list "Brake Failure" is the one that I could believe. For whatever reason BMW has been very cheap with brakes in the past. Both the E39 and E46 had considerable brake fade issues.

The clutch pedal is a throwback to the days of carburation and OHV engines. It has served us well but its time to let go and embrace the future.

Re: Wrecked E60 M5

Interesting, the Ascari curve shouldn't have produced that sort of smash, I wonder if it was actually the Parabolica - the Ascari is a very slow chicane as I recall, whereas the Parabolica which is shortly after the Ascari is a long sweeper which could produce understeer in buckets and cause such a head-on smash?
