Ok guys I have a 06 e60 M5 SMG, my car has been setting for about 3 weeks or some right after i got the half yellow engine light. I have yet to find out what that means yet. Will need help with that also, anyway I crank the car three times in those few weeks and today I started it up and let it run and noticed that the yellow and red thing on the side of the rpm's went down to about half way between 7 and 8 then it jumped up to 5 and I shut car off. After that I got a buzzing or humming noise (not the SMG pump) and it done it for awhile. Later on I went back to start car again and I put the fob in went to put into N and it would not go into N. All the dash lights come on but I can't get it out of gear so I can see if it will start back up. Can someone please help me with both issues if they can. :dunno:??????
1. The "half yellow engine light" -- if you mean the diagram of an engine outline in yellow, that means the engine is not running.
2. The "yellow and red thing on the rpm gauge" -- that is your RPM limit indication. It moves to lower RPM range when the engine is cold, and moves to the full RPM range as the engine warms up.
3. My primary comment concerns starting/idling the car instead of driving it. These cars need to be driven. It is probably better to just leave it sit, than to start and idle it every so often.
4. You've most likely run the battery down, so get a trickle charger/maintainer and keep the battery fully charged while sitting.
