Question about Active Seat option - can you help?

I currently have Active Seats in my E39 but I had to order Comfort Seats to get this as it was not available on the standard Sport Seats.

Will the Active Seat option (code 455) be available on the M Multifunction seat (or even standard M sport seats) or will the active massage feature only be offered on Comfort Seats as with the E39?

I would like to specify M Multifunction seats with the Active Seat option if this is possible.

Active Seats are M5-exclusive, aren't they?

No, the comfort package on the E39 and E65 have them. Not sure about the comfort package on the e60 offhand, but I imagine it does as well.

Ok, Luxury Seating Package on the E65... it doesn't appear that they are offered on the e60 unless it is called something else.

16-way power front Comfort seats with articulated upper backrest
Active front seats with gentle massage action

Re: Question about Active Seat option - can you help?

Perfectly designed seats are a prerequisite for sports motoring.
Sports-minded drivers in particular can order the optional M multifunction seat featuring active backrest width adjustment. The foam part geometry for this seat has also been reconceived for optimum comfort and perfect side support: both backrest width and side support adjust independently in each driving situation, the automatic adjustment being effected, inter alia, according to lateral acceleration and steering angle. The customer decides at the press of a button or by MDrive which of the three modes – comfort, normal or sport – is to be activated. Also included in the optional equipment are the active headrest, memory function, seat heating and electrically-operated lumbar support. The active headrest protects the cervical spine above all in the event of a bumper-to-bumper collision. Active seat ventilation is also available as an optional extra.
Room for five persons and a great deal of luggage space. At the rear two passengers are offered a centre armrest with storage compartment and cupholder. If needed, it functions as a backrest for the middle seat, which provides seating for a third passenger

Sooo:

Active seat = is on the M5 active backrest.

Active seat on other BMW = like the old "comfort" seats with massage?

Re: Question about Active Seat option - can you help?

Thanks but still doesn't answer my question. I want the "Buttock Massage" as I have with the Active/Comfort option on my E39. I know this is available as option 455 on E60 Comfort Seats but I want it on the M Multifunction or standard M Sport seats - is this possible??

Re: Question about Active Seat option - can you help?

I dont know- but I would guess they would build you anything you want through Individual.

I don't like how these new seats change depending on driving mode- Ive tried MBs version and I found it was a big distraction- I had to move the seat during driving.
