Just received these LED bulbs from the states for my M5,just wondering why there is no lead in the box as there is on the packaging? Maybe its a direct plug into OEM leads? I dont wanna spend an hour removing the headlight to find out i haven't got all the bits i need to fit them! Can anyone verify if i'm ok or the part i need before i start, here is the kit.....
Are these for Angel eyes or turnsignals? You dont need to remove the headlight to swap turnsinals.. Its a tight fit and a bit hard to twist out but it's doable. Have done it several times.
These are for the angel eyes to change them from yellow to bright white? Looks impossible to change them without at least disconnecting headlight...From youtube videos anyway
Like the previous person said, it's impossible to do the change without disconnecting the headlight assembly and taking it out at least slightly. I've tried when I was installing mine, but I still needed to take the whole thing out.
What year is your car? If it is a pre-LCI you have to remove the headlights to change the angel eye bulbs.
If it is LCI than you can get away with it by leaving the headlights installed in the car. Most don't have an issue but some can't reach their hands in that area.
Thanks for the replys guys, the car is Pre LCI,I know the headlights have to come out to fit these Thats not the problem in trying to figure if I definitly need the extra wires/resonators to fit them as wat arrived is just the two bulbs
I removed my LCI headlight in about 5 mins, if i knew it was that easy to remove i would have done so when i did my angel eyes or turn signals lol ( big hands suck), but it can be done easily without removal.
I don't remember needing the leads on my Pre-LCI car. You WILL need to pull the headlights to get to the blubs, but that pull is not hard at all. 4 screws each and out they come.
The listing has been removed from eBay so I can't find the vendor! That 1 for not needing them so I'm gonna chance taking the headlights out later, think it's the 5w bulbs
Okay, looked up a bunch of 5W angel eyes on ebay and there are no additional leads and resistors needed. They are direct from the cars harness into to LEDs.
Thanks for the replys guys got them fitted and looking super! The 5W is perfect not too dim to look cheap and not too bright that the angel eyes are blurred(I've seen this a lot)
