To each his own. We're not Michael S. and we're not professional drivers. I personally like the feeling of rowing through the gears. Obviously BMW did their market research and knows they can sell the SMG. I just wish they gave us a choice.

I've driven a 535 SMG and didn't like it, but am still optimistic that SMGIII will be MUCH different than what I drove. I personally couldn't care less about double clutching, rev matching, and all that. I've probably made 5 million shifts in my 58 years, and I already know how to do it. What I look forward to is gaining more car control as fewer of my brain cells are working on the shifting and more are working on the right speed thru the corners. Ask Michael S. if he'd like a manual gearbox in his Ferrari. Knowing that it's worth many seconds per lap, I know the answer.
