Re: New Cadillac CTS V PLUS

IMO, CTS V PLUS is really ugly.....the appearance of the M5 is much better for me....and it's high-rev V-10 with SMG III,the handling, the enjoyment, irresistible!!! BTW, is it really as fast as the E39 M5??? I doubt it because I don't see any numbers at all(600hp is meaningless without context) ...rumours are not reliable

Re: New Cadillac CTS V PLUS

I test drove a Corvette Z06 with the skip-shift feature. I found this to be so obnoxious that I won't even visit the Cadillac showroom, if it's in the CTS-V...unless, of course, it can be "chipped" into oblivion. I agree that a manual transmission car also needs a hand brake, but I could tolerate not having one, if everything else fell into line.

Moreover, unless I can defeat daytime running lights in the Cadillac, I'll be inclined to look for another alternative without this feature, which in my humble opinion is insultingly stupid, regardless of what Canadian rental car studies suggest. Those same studies, BTW, suggested that rental cars with daytime running lights were more likely to be rear-ended. Go figure.

Both can be "turned off" with mods.

Re: New Cadillac CTS V PLUS

My first ZR1 had this feature to avoid the gas guzzler tax. It's easily removed.

The CTS V is really kicking some *** on the race track. Beating Vipers, Z06's,

RS6's and M3's in the SCCA Challenge Cup at Sebring and also in the Can Am

Cup series. I think it's smart for Cadillac to do this as it really shows what the

car can do on the track.

Mike, if you want to know all the mods you can do to your car, go to

www.mallettcars.com

They're outside Cleveland so in your neck of the woods.

Re: New Cadillac CTS V PLUS

Well, my Cadillac dealer just called me back. He got ahold of some one that he felt knew of Cadillac's future road map with the CTS V. They told him that there are no plans to increase the HP of the V series. Oh well, think I'll still keep my ear to the ground.

By the way, if you want to watch a road test on the CTS V that is unbiased, SPEED TV will be doing one tomorrow at 8:00 AM EST.

You're right...maybe next year I will have an M5. This will only happen if the exterior styling looks better then the 545 and that iDrive is optional. I still think the new M5 will be an excellent car...I just can't buy one now

so people don't like Caddliac's new Styling? Maybe it's a generation thing, because I liked it.

You're right. The iDrive would interface directly to the computer. They could, however, stil offer some buttons. Don't force me to use iDrive.
