Front Grill M Emblem

Does anyone know if the F10 front grill M5 emblem is a separate part or molded into the grill? I would love to put one on my E60.
I used to own (and wished I never sold it) one of the very few BMW's that ever had a front emblem. I had a 1979 E21 323i and it came from the factory with a front 323i emblem in the front grill. It was a separate part.

Just to clarify, the OP wanted a new F10 small grill M5 emblem on his car....not the old school big M emblem.

OP, you can actually just get the stickers that fit your side grills, they are the same size as the new M5 emblem and stick on the grill . No need to modify it and if you change your mind later you can just take it off. Regardless, do what you like. It is your car. I have changed things on mine several times but always my taste regardless of what people say online. This has been for every car I have owned. I pay for it, I make it the way I want it. If someone wants to send me a check and sponsor me.....I will take their changes at hand.

Right now I have a major crisis with my Son's BMW 1991 325 E30 convert he just bought for $2,800.......I put more modern E36 emblems on it instead of the larger E30 emblems......I should be shot!!!! But he liked them. Might have him put a ///M grill emblem on there out of tribute to spite the haters.

I assume you all know there is humor and sarcasm in this post. Live life, do not whine over emblems and have a great holiday. And regardless.....from an old timer BMW owner...do not be a BMW douche. I am now training my 19 year old not to do that...if he does, I take it and he gets a Subaru.

A little discussion of the M badge is in order. I used to be a Grey Market Importer. I worked at an airline that is now defunct, but I would fly over cheaply on my off days, find a 5 year old used BMW, Porsche, Mercedes and bring them back for friends. Of course we had to do some DOT work but you got a once a lifetime EPA exemption if the car was 5 years old. Anyway, I became friends with some German used car dealers and this is what I was told about the M badge. If you purchased a M steering wheel, or M wheels, or any M product and installed them on your car you were "OK" to put an M badge on the car so long as it was on the opposite side of the cars emblem (example 528i) on the left side of the rear (NOT next to the emblem). So you put it on the left side and it showed that you purchased M (BMW Motorsport) products, and the dealers there stocked a lot of these parts (it is so cool in German Car dealerships). At least that was the norm for German BMW's that were M badged but not M cars.

I designed and 3D printed a mount for the emblem on my E60 M5. No tools required to install, it clips around the grill vents. It's been on for awhile and has held up to speeds of 145mph on the track. If there is interest I can get the kids to print, test and send some out. I have an after market black grill but I snapped it on the original grill and it worked as well.

I have listed the "Clip Only". (had some issues with the order so doing ala carte, apologies). Search ebay for "BMW e60 M5 Grill Emblem Clip". My suggestion, get the clip and make sure it fits like you want then order the badge. This is the part: ECSTuning (M5 Grille Emblem ES#: 2698089). Let me know your feedback on the design and fit..much tougher than it looks to get it squared up and fit to the angled and changes in width of the grill vents.
