M5 E60 Bangle deleted

Courtesy of a picture that Gustav took recently, I took the liberty of slightly modifing the new M5 with Gustav's ok.

The front and rear pics I've seen looked good but, I didn't like the profile and IMO it was hideous

I started modifying the picture, I found my self making more and more changes to it It became an evolution of pics.

Starting at the top with the original picture it evolves to what I would like to see in the new M5.

Rember guys this is just my personal tastes and your welcome to apply your own modifications

Love the elimination of seams... and of particular note - the de-Bangle!!

Re: M5 E60 Bangle deleted

I like what you did in pic no. 2. The elimination of the trunk lid seam on the side reduces the visual effect of the Bangle Butt and you've taken down the height of the butt a bit, too. I like it. The fourth pic takes this a bit too far, as you've now eliminated the wrap around lights. Maybe if you just reshaped the lights a bit but not eliminated them so much it would be better. I'm not sure I like the wheels better than the stock ones.

I'm sure BMW decided to put the side fender vents/gills there to identify the car with the M3 and distinguish it from "regular" e60s but it doesn't work in that tight space on the e60 fender, IMHO. If they just did the mods you put in in pic 2, I could even grow to like this car. Especially if they come out with the rumored 550hp instead of 500.

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."

Re: M5 E60 Bangle deleted

Thanks for the comments! It's interesting how the car can take a different look from a few changes.

Here is another change as some of you have suggested

Re: M5 E60 Bangle deleted

I think any one of these is better than the Bangle Butt cars., although #3 in the first set is probably my favorite. It keeps the continuity with the new styling without being fugly......Maybe you should send BMW your portfolio..(and Bangle is definitely getting overpaid!!!)
Regards,
Jerry
