Gonna try to get some done on the highway tomorrow.. But the link Randywei provided above gives a pretty good example of the sound.. I got stopped today by a Maserati owner about how good my car sounded after going WOT on him

Hmmmm all good things about this intake and sounds worth it. But I heard something different about a guy with intakes blew his engine while running on the track? Can you chime in TroyJeup?? I tried tagging him but it didn't work...

I'm no expert but struggle to understand how intakes could be a direct cause of engine failure.

lol... It is impossible for the intake to be a direct result of a engine failure, esp on this engine, with this intake.. The S85 is a closed loop fueling system.. It will compensate for fuel and or air with its sophisticated system.. Hell you can run with no plenums or intake and the engine would run great! Except for heatsoak and foreign debris of course lol. But can put that to rest.. That is about the same as saying a catback exhaust blew a engine... A engine failure can be a very hard to diagnosis and pin point, but can rule out the intake for sure lol
Also refer to Randywei second post in this thread, look at his and Gians, both cars running GREAT and very SAFE AFR and IGN in their datalogs.. I have a log of my car aswell.. So No an intake on this engine will never cause an engine failure. I dont want to take this thread off topic, so any engine failure or speculation can be left in that forum members thread.

Lol there is an old thread on here from like 07' when the charcoal filter deletes were on the rage and someone removed their intake filter and charcoal filters. He drove like that for I forgot how long then something got sucked up into his intake and his engine went ka boom lol. First thing that came to mind when someone mentions an intake and engines blowing up haha.

haha DAMN.. yea, that is about the only way to make it go kaboom lol.. A guy on the 335i forums, he left packing peanuts inside his new intake filters, and he blew his turbos since all those peanuts got sucked down into the turbos with who knows what else from the packaging.

I wonder if drilling a hole into the stock airboxes would provide some extra intake noise? I have seen this done on other cars before...

Of the few things I've done to my girl, these intakes are my favorite... hands down.
