        HUD Problems?

I hear that BMW are having trouble with the Heads Up Display.

Specifically, due to the laminated screen, the system projects a double "ghost" image onto the windscreen.

If this is not sorted out soon it will affect delivery dates.

Does anyone have any more information on this?

The HUD system on my 545iA works 100% so far ( 1000km )!

Itīs the nicest option on my car. Havenīt had any problem. Only thing is that you canīt use polarized sunglasses.

in fact they had production problems with the HUD and these did affect delivery dates. theses problems are sorted out now and there shouldn't be any problems getting HUD. Got my 530i on 2004-01-14 with HUD and it's been working perfectly for the last ~2300 km.

How is the new 5 series being received in Germany and Europe? I remember when the 7 came out and it did not sell up to expectations in Germany and that was a big dissapointment to BMW- is the 5 doing better?
