Re: bmw m2 (small picture)
Does the 1 and 2 series signal the end of the road for the Compact model?
p.s. The price of petrol in Europe certainly makes a lot of people buy smaller cars. I am sure the majority would like to be travelling in luxobarges.

Re: bmw m2 (small picture)
Someone was a little off when they P-shopped that one. It looks like a X3 that got ran over. Hopefully there will be some better pics soon. I hope BMW stays pure and makes sure it is RWD, as if they had something in the lower price bracket that is RWD they will be in a good place.

Re: bmw m2 (small picture)
A Mazda 3 comes to mind in that pic.

Sorry, but Ma*** doesn´t have half of the style of that car.
That, I think, represents quite well the shape and overall appearance of the 1-2-series. The front end is directly from the CS1 concept, as are the sides. Only mods are the front lip and M3 wheels. Spy pics of the coming 1-series seem to be quite close to this.
Looks VERY BMW in appearance and attitude. I think this is what the future BMWs should look like. Personal though not extravagant.
Sakke

Re: bmw m2 (small picture)
Its awfully difficult to make much of an opinion based on that picture, but I think DrSakke is right. What we've seen of the 1 series and forthcoming 3/4 series shows that maybe BMW is refining the new stying back in the direction of what a BMW should look like.

Re: bmw m2 (small picture)
Pffft. Why would I get that when I could get a real M2?
http://www.m2bmw.com/m2BMW/
Yes, I'm serious. If I'm going to get a comedy car that small, I would honestly rather have a tricked out 2002 than a new tiny BMW with a monster engine.
EDIT: MEnthusiast, I'm really surprised that you like the look of it. I, personally, don't like the look of it at all.

Re: bmw m2 (small picture)
Maybe its becuase I know its their 1 series so its ok to have some compromises? Maybe its a case of styling being relatively more in line with what I prefer? Who knows- I do like the basic theme that the image shows. I cant argue with your own take on it, but I would rather have a modern car with the modern safety feautres as well as warranty. But there is certainly nothing wrong with "your M2"
