Whats the new M5 motor called?
Like the current one is S62 whats the E60 M5 engine called?

Actually, I think it stands for M, M used to be Motorsports, but now I think its just M. Some cynical among us might say it stands for Marketing- but I dont think thats really correct- marketing of course is important today, but I think by and large M is done with the enthusiast in mind.

Your right, M is for Motorsport. And M is definitely not about Marketing. Thats why BMW produces an SUV call the X5 4.8is and not badged an M X5. It stems from the M group purist nature that M is reserved for production vehicles true to the M values and why the X5 will only recieve the "is." Although it is **** worthy of an M badge in terms of raw power and agility for an SUV. Mercedes on the otherhand will breakdown and label their M Class an AMG model.
