Bangle gone!
Heard rumors that Bangle will be gone by the end of the year. Anyone else heard of such rumors?
Just found this on another board forum posted by Vididdy.

Re: Bangle gone!
If he leaves, then the E60 board would have nothing to talk about except iDrive....just joking guys!
I think based on his hatred by many loyal BMW owners that it might be the right choice for him. I happen to like the styling he has done, but I guess I am the minority. Hopefully he moves on and enjoys another well paid career; helping small car companies clone the new BMW's.

I agree. I'm not a fan of the exterior styling - but could live with it with great driving capability (not the domain of bangle), and the interior looking good. I always thought BMW had the best interiors, the '04's look awful.

The designer may be gone but the cars will live on for the next 7 years....
We are stuck with the design until then....?
The BMW CEO should take some responsibility.... They are trying to get too many products out and have lost focus.... i.e. The new 5, 6, X3, 4, 1....

I agree, I like many of the new designs. Exceptions being the Z4 and the generally sleepy front ends of it, the 6 and the 7. Not crazy about the trunk on the 6 either. I like the 5 alot though. I agree that the 5 interior could use some help in some areas.
As for his hatred.. I was flipping through Roundel last night and couldn't help but laugh. In there is a letter from a guy who talked about being a loyal BMW buyer who has had a bunch of BMWs. In his letter, he explains how he recently bought an 02 Acura because of the design direction. You know, in 02, the e39 was still available. The other funny part... his last BMW he bought was an 84 635CSi. I don't think that he is the type of BMW fan that BMW is worried about loosing. A guy that buys a new car every 20 years...
M5_2010.. I agree totally. Bangle can't and shouldn't take all of the "blame" and abuse of everyone. As much as people don't want to believe it, he is not god and doesn't make every decision related to every car. BMW management should take some of the heat for letting things get to this point, and for introducing so much. When there was just the 3, 5, 7, 6/8 (depending on time).. the cars did seem to have a higher level of detail that set them apart. I think it all started with the Z3, and especially the X5. Suddenly, there are tons of models, all coming out within a few years of each other.
