0-200 km/h in 20,8 s for the manual version. This is faster than soem tests of the M3 SMGII Convertible.

But I guess this maybe says more how slow the M3 Convertible is...

0-200 km/h in around 20 s is quite good, this car would efinetly crush -say an Audi S6

0-100 in 5.9 is still pretty slow.

Dont confuse it with 0-60 mph though. M5 E39 time is 5,2 s. But I agree, that is not spectacular. But the 0-200 km7h is very good for a regular 5-series. A bit better than the BMW Alpina B10 V8.

Yes, 0-100 is equivalent to 0-62, and not 0-60. Nonetheless, is is not that impressive, and I expect the M5 to do much better. Once RMS and Dinan get their hands on the M5, we will likely see 0-60 numbers of 3.7 to 3.9.

I just found out my order for 545i with SMG has to be changed.....
SMG has been delayed once again... It was supposed to be March production date..... Anyone know what's going on???

The figures look really good IMO. Braking is top level - 37.5 m from 100 km/h.
Basically the same results in Auto zeitung nov 2003 issue, were the 545iA beat both the Audi A6 4.2 and Mercedes E500. Only disappointing was the 0 - 100 km/h figure - 6.3 sec for the automatic.

Well, anyway on thursday I´ll find out myself - delivery time

Hmm. The E39 540 was usually 5.9 to 60 with the auto, with the worst test being nearer to that number. I think a 5.9 to 62 would shave a few tenths off in the 60 run, but nothing spectacular. That is a good number still, but I would expect more from a car with a heathy HP bump that the E60 enjoyed.
You always have to look at the traction where they tested it, what the driver was like, etc. E39 M5's have been quoted at 5.2 and such, but most tests show around 4.7-4.8 to 60. Who knows, I'll just wait to see more numbers before I set that humble number in stone.

The 545i has a 5.5 sec 0-60 mph time
The 645i has a 5.4 sec 0-60 mph time

The 645 time came from a recent roadtest from a UK magazine. I don't have the article here but it was scanned and posted on another forum.

It will take quite a while before I´m able to test the 0 -100 km/h ( 0 -62 mph ).

First the run in ( 2000 km ) and then there is the snow and ice on the roads here in Sweden. Have to focus on learning all the nice gadgets of the car instead. It will be very interesting to see how the HUD works.
