Well it is true, I've heard this over 6 months ago, I wrote it here too. I attended e60 VIP presentation and they told it there.

Nice ino, but that's UK arrival, not US arrival. The e39 M5 arrived in the US a whole model year after the UK.
Cheers.

I think the presentation will be in Sept 2004 at the IAA 2004. Then you have to wait still 6 month to get it.

V True.....don't see why that has to be the case....and then little things get changed...like the warning triangle. I just don't get it...Is there some logic here?

Well, I think this was a little different for the e60. When did they go on sale in Europe? If memory serves, some folks got theirs in August or September. The e60 went on sale here in October?
What was the lead time between the E46 M3 in Europe and here?
All other threads have had the Euro M5 out this fall, with winter or spring release here in the states. I imagine that BMW will want to get the M5 here as fast as possible, since they are losing sales to AMG and Audi by not having a car to compete. Weren't most of the e39 M5s sold here?

Re: Top Gear Reports Sept 2004 for M5
I agree with vndkshn. BMW would not be wise to make the US market wait it out, as there is a big demand for that car here. Almost 9000 E39 Beasts made it to the US, which is a huge portion of all E39 M5 sales. I guess I am just impatient because I want to see it soon.

i don't think there's IAA 2004. actually there is, but it's more commercial cars, so it isn't the one you are talking about anyway.
i think you meant Paris AutoShow

Re: Top Gear Reports Sept 2004 for M5
As I can see we will have to wait a lot of time. They show us a candy with these spy pics but...i think that it is still far away of its presentation.
Cheers,
