Update on the Geneva Salon as of December

Got it confirmed again from an insider

The M5 will be shown, but as a "showcar" as I've been told earlier. So the exteriour will be finished but not a complete car. Which means I will go to Geneva to see it!

We're looking at a Paris Salon release in September.

This is inline with what a "certain female taxidrive on the Nürburgring said too" that it is some development left and it would probably not be completely finished until Geneva.

At least we're lucky we don't have to wait as long as we did between the regular E39 and the M5 launch were BMW said initially "M5 isn't needed, the 540i is enough with as much HP as the first generation M5".

I'm looking forward for March!

Thanks for the update Gustav. I cannot wait to see what the E60 M5 will officially look like. If this holds true, it looks like the M5 will not be out for production until mid spring of '05 at the earliest. That would make the US model an '06 version?

I doubt it. The regular e60 was not officially shown until August or September, correct? It was on sale and relatively available by the early October in the states. Of course, most were sold, and I really haven't seen any sitting on lots.

I suspect (hope) that we will see it in Europe late 05, with the first Us cars showing up early 05, if not late 04. Talk about a Christmas present!!
