        BMW 5 Series Wholesale Pricing

Have a look - it includes the wholesale prices on the Euro Delivery model as well.

Anyone surprised that the Active Cruise Control requires the auto transmission - that's news to me . . .

Nope. Originally it was listed as only available with the autobox. For some reason BMW USA's website did not show that the last time I checked. In fact, it would let you spec it on an manual trans car.

And looking at some of the info on how it works, I can see why it would be required.

isn't active cruise control the thing that automaticly adjusts speed when driving on the highway and is breaking when you come to close to a car before you?
somebody has to change gears then. who should do that when you have manual transmission?

I agree it makes sense, but the BMWUSA.com website let me build a six speed with it - AND - when I placed my order Saturday, the salesman didn't say anything. He's now double-checking for me.

Lastly - the ACC only adjusts speed by either 20% or 30% (I forget which.) Seems like it should work with a stick just fine (e.g. dropping from 80 to 64 or 56 mph in sixth gear should be just fine.) I do have a normal cruise control on another 6-speed now. Maybe they're worried about the 65 to 53 or 46 drop. Beats me.

Anyway, I was just surprised it didn't come up when I ordered the car.

I agree. I think to this day bmwusa.com still lets you add it to a manual. Really shocked that the sales rep didn't pick it up.
