Evolve Eventuri intakes have landed

I have been in regular contact with Imran at Evolve during the development of the E-Venturi intakes for the S85.

Following my recent issues which turned out to be bank 1&2 throttle sensors I received a call from Imran to say that the testing was complete and the kits were imminent.

After begging didn't work I resorted to threats in order to get a kit from the first batch. 0001 was fitted to Evolves demo car and 0002 was promised to a gentleman in the states so I happily accept unit number 0003.

This morning (as promised) a courier arrived with a parcel for me

Being a bit OCD, I ran my machine polisher over the carbon casing and applied 3 coats of Zaino Z2.

Wasting no time I got straight on with the installation. (30 mins all in)
Due to the kits being so new, fitting instructions are not ready yet but a quick phone call to Evolve and they walked me through it. If I can do it, anyone can

Apologies for the poor quality iPhone pictures.

As you can see I've decided to leave my rpi scoops as they have been colour coded to the air plenum.

The kit was very easy to fit and everything went together perfectly.

The induction sound is orgasmic and is easy to hear even over the Evolve Etronic exhaust. I will try to get some sound clips posted over the next few days.

Lastly a huge thank you to Evolve for putting up with my impatience, another fantastic offering for us S85 owners

If I got these also I was going to leave my RPi scoops too. Nice seeing I'm not the only one!

Look at that cute little filter all by itself lol!

Looks awesome!

Other than the stylistic and design features (and sound) of the intake, what are the performance gains (hp and torque)?

I would think the RPI scoops will only help force more air in which should be nice.

I am that lucky gentleman in the states :)

Can't wait for mine to arrive!

The car was driving fine then..... Dsc failure warning, SMG failure followed by red cog of doom. Car wouldn't engage gear etc. I called BMW and had the car recovered to my chosen dealer (fortunately I have full warranty). They changed banks 1&2 throttle switches and so far so good.
They said the throttle sensors are on the same circuit as the dsc and SMG and communicate with the dme together.

Seems a stupid design to me, if have thought it better to go into limp mode to at least leave you mobile

Ditto......Not that I am skeptical but...many of us don't have tubular header's, just OEM. So what are the prospective gains with OEM with the addition of the Evolve air intakes? Not yet clear on this?:dunno:

Exactly! I can't justify spending $1200 for some fancy looking CF intakes!

Evolve intakes offer a higher flowing intake system over the factory air boxes. Evolve have stated that restriction air flow at high RPM's where this engine is really demanding alot of air, the stock air box has its limits as does most all factory boxes for noise/emissions reasons etc.
The evolve intake gives the S85 engine a healthy amount of all the air required that it needs even at high RPM where this engine demands a large amount of air while most importantly than anything is maintaining the same IAT's as the stock airbox which is very important. Evolve is very detailed and consistent in there testing, there HP gains are always true, and not false deltas like alot of companies who push their products on here. The volume of air that this intake by design it can move is far greater then the stock box, to add i believe the honeycomb by the maf is eliminated aswell to provide for even greater flow.

Gian, you're the biggest troll on this board Lolol.

Go back and hide under your bridge.

The main question which was expecting it to have already been asked is " how does the damn car drive" how does it feel apart from just the orgasmic noise??
Do you feel a difference in the throttle, torque ?

For all of you guys who have been wanting to see stock intakes vs Evolve intakes (even though the results have already been posted...), Mo posted his dyno results from this past weekend on his thread.

Bone stock car, not even a tune in the before or after graphs. Shows stock intakes vs Evolve intakes. His car also isn't running at 100% health as he needs his spark plugs replaced and ignition timing is off. After his trip back from Spain, he will address the issues, take another dyno, flash the Evolve Stage 1 tune, and then another dyno.

Thanks for the info! Much more useful than the dyno posted by Evolve.

So it seems you can expect ~11hp gain with the Evolve intakes compared to OEM. Not bad!

Still can't justify the cost for picking up ~11hp. I'd rather put 1/3 that cost in a pulley kit and pick up more gains.

If your running gutted primaries and an exhaust with no secondaries you should expect more than 11hp correct? Hmmm I already have rpi scoops and bmc filters with charcoal delete that alone could have added 11hp. Now im thinking if this is worth the $$ or not.
