E 60 on the Autobahn

As I was leaving Heidelberg today noticed a strange looking BMW coming into my rearview mirror. Suspected that it was a new E60 5 series so I let him pass for a good look-see.

Car had local plates so it wasn't a factory mule. Also still had the rear chrome badge showing the engine size.

Initially he passed me in a restricted speed zone above the limit but soon slowed down. I followed for several Kms to get a better look, appeared like the driver was pre-occupied with something inside I-Drive or Cell, couldn't tell. Car had the shark fin for a cell.

Well I will say it looks different than the photos and from a 3/4 rear and side angle it looks like a scaled down 7 series. Car was dark color so some of the ugly features were not as obvious i.e. trunk integration with rest of car.

Guess I can now go by the dealer and see about a test drive sometime soon.

Right now my thumb is quivering, if you like the 7 I am sure you would like this. Maybe I am behind the times but I still like the present E39 so it would take some getting use to. The deciding factor for me on which way, up or down, will only be made after I drive one. If I like it, it does matter what others think of the looks.

Thanks how much did that session cost me???
Now that I am up to date maybe I should force that thumb down now and forget the drive.
I am really glad to find out that I am normal, that means I don't need to have my friend in Oz help me with the wizard and together our quest for a heart or new E60 will only be as simple as following the cobble stones of the oldest autobahn to Berlin.
