All new designs look horrible!!

I saw 3 more 7 series today. What a disappointment that thing is. I really mean it is a "thing." I don't like the exterior surface detailing of any of the new BMW cars. What does Bangle call it, flame surfaced or something? The new 7 doesn't flow. It is big, but not integrated. I tell you now, nothing in the BMW lineup is appealing to me. I will leave, no doubt. Even the E60 M5 does not seem exciting to me and the 6 series is no better.

I look and look at the E65, and I dislike it now as much as when I first saw it. Ugly is ugly, and let's call it like it is.

I WANT TO BE EXCITED ABOUT BMWs!!!!

OK, Porsche, I'm counting on you.

I love the design of the E65, agressive while elegant simultaneously and still exudes a sense presence on the road. While bulky it may seem compared to the sleek nature of its predecessors, BMW's latest incarnation uses a multitude of systems which projects the car as a more nimble, agile vehicle than its size suggests through the deceptive facade of Dynamic Drive and the plethora of other computer gadgets embedded into the vehicle.

Ultimately, from a personal standpoint, I believe the E65 is a milestone for BMW, not only technologically and mechanically, but aesthetically as well. Although initially plagued with some problems, most have been eradicated and sales numbers stand stronger than ever.

hey- watch your language. I dont want to be the PC police here- but: expressing your opinion- thats cool. expressing it with off color language- thats not.

btw- I dont think the new designs are too bad and the flame surfacing is most notable on the z4. the 7 doesnt show it very much and the new 6 doesnt seem to have very much. I think the new 5 is pretty nice from the pics. thats just my 2 cents but I can see how you would be frustrated. as to Porsche, well, if you believe they needed Cayenne to save the company then they must be in trouble because I see them having a hard time selling them.... the cars I see as good alternatives to the next M5 are

Aston Martin V8 by Henrik Fisker- just beautiful

Porsche 911 turbo- always a great choice

MB E55 AMG- supposedly they are getting better and the look is good. so far I am unimpressed with the regular MBs Ive driven though

I like what I've seen of the new 6 Series, and the 5 isn't bad.........better in person than in photos, IMO. I really HATE to admit this, but now I'm thinking that the E39 is starting to look dated (but still beautiful in M5 form) next to the E60.

It shouldn't have been edited...

I've used the b.s. word before without issue. The other word was not used in the literal sense. No apologies.

I've always liked the 911s, and the current car is no exception. I also happen to really like the current crop of MBs. Would still withhold judgment until I see the Motorsport versions of the 5 and 6 series.

I've seen a few new 5's tooling around Saddle River and Woodcliff Lake. One was SilverGray, one Mystic Blue (I think), and one Black. DEFINITELY better looking "in the metal" than in photos. No sign of an M5 here, though.
