driver door CA not responding (comfort access)

hey everyone.

im usually not in the m5 section, but i have a friend with a 06 m5 and his drivers door comfort access is not responding, but all other doors work
correct

anyone heard of this? did we miss something in the idrive settings?

any help is greatly appreciated

Could be your diversity antenna needs replacing as mine stopped working until I changed this out and now it works like a charm.

Also the CA keys have a replaceable battery so you might want to try the cheap fix first.

I know it's only the drivers door but worth a shot.

Mine acts up sometimes so what I'm going to try to do first is to remove the diversity antennae and clean off the contacts, that seems to have worked for some people.

thanks for the responses. ive read the listed (thanks by the way) threads and it seems like there is a trigger in the door that can fail and the diversity antenna can go bad. my friend says the other doors work fine but it could be because, at the rear doors, he is closer to the antenna and it just works.

i just feel bad for him because he liked my m6, so he bought a m5 from a suggestion by me and has had nothing but problems. i love these cars but they are quirky.
