Pre-facelift info?

So I've searched and searched and can't find details.

I took the splitters off my '06 and surprisingly found a different bumper than I expected. I know there was a facelift in 08 so I figured that was it, but I saw another '06 for sale today and it has the normal M5 front bumper. Mine has smooth, rounded off lips under the brake ducts vice what the newer ones have. I also haven't noticed anything when searching for new splitters, but I would imagine they would be different, right?

Is this right? I can't find pictures or details anywhere other than what the '08 facelift has like LCI lights. Sorry if this is a repost.

T.I.A.

post pics and circle the area you're talking about?

This is what a pre-LCI bumper looks like - note the lack of orange reflectors

I'll take a picture after work today. That's NOT what mine looks like, exactly what I was wondering. The "lip" under the brake air duct is rounded off, not squared on the inside like the picture above.

I have no idea... maybe a previous owner replaced it for some reason and didn't go OEM?

So here's my bumper now:

When searching for new splitters, I noticed most of them have the second part that would rap around the corner where the vent is like this:

After comparing mine I see a seam there, SO I think this is the inside piece of the splitters and it came apart when I took it off. I guess the previous owner bought cheap ones, as they were kind of starting to fall apart. Odd that they use two pieces though.

What it looks like is someone molded a part into your bumper and made it look like all one piece.

Kind of like this:

It's not molded, I can take that back piece off still. I just didn't realize the splitters were two pieces because the CF parts came right off.

Thanks for the help man, again haha
