Need Advice | AutoCarbon: Carbon Fiber + Alcantara Steering Wheel

Hello Everyone!

Has anyone upgraded their steering wheel with the one from AutoCarbon. Like the one below.

I have been itching to get one, but just can't convince myself to pull the trigger. So, I have a few questions.

1) Has anyone used it?
2) Are you happy with the quality, finish and fitment? I don't expect fitment to be an issue since they use the OEM core.
3) Is it worth the 1000 USD?

Appreciate all advice and suggestions.

Thanks
Hasan

It it worth it?

That's a matter of personal opinion... I wouldn't pay 1000 bucks for a steering wheel. What's wrong with the original? Same function. IMHO.

Looks pretty cool though.

What I'm looking to do (besides the carbon triangle piece that's done already) is to have the original coated with alcantara. Got a rough estimate and it was 160 euros. Not bad.

Indeed! That's exactly what I have been thinking.

Its only esthetics, but it does look way better than the OEM.

I like it! Only concern is overall quality/reliability of materials. Can't really tell from these photos.

Found this on YouTube!

I think it's worth it. I love my Hartge wheel over the stock wheel. I just wish mine has CF on the upper portion. Only thing I would do differently if I were you is go with leather instead of alcantara on the bottom portion for durablility. Alcantara wears easily over time.

I can't speak to the AutoCarbon wheel, but I will tell you that replacing a steering wheel is not a waste. I had a 2007 Audi RS4, and replaced the stock wheel (US S4 wheel) with the Euro RS4 wheel (read: Lamborghini Gallardo, flat bottom), and the difference was *unbelievable*

I think I paid $1100 for that steering wheel w/ airbag. Worth every penny.

I went back and checked mine, it is similar but does not have the suede on the bottom portion and the sides are not fully CF but more just the inserts. I paid $800 for mine so not sure adding additional CF equates to $300 more.

You forgot you had a special hookup price for yours and it normally costs way over $1K for that particular style.

personally i don't like the steering wheel to be that thick , looks kinda out of place in the e60 interior.
