'09 vs. '10 iDrive interface?

There appears to be a significant update to the iDrive interface (screens & menus) between the North American market '09 and '10 cars, even though the iDrive controllers appear to be the same. Can the '09 car be upgraded to the '10 interface?

short answer, yes it can but you will need to retrofit and code your car.

Please search this forum and/or do a google search as this topic has been discussed before:

here's a head start:

2010 CIC install in 2006 M5 Pictorial

2010 CIC Retrofit Installation LOG

2008 M5 retrofit with 2010 CIC and HD screen

---
If you have a M6, may want to check the M6 section to see if they have install instructions specific to your car
